H.E. Mr Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Alsabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait and accompanied delegation visited Azerbaijan to participate at 18^th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Held under the motto “Upholding Bandung principles to ensure a concerted and adequate response to the challenges of the contemporary world”, the Summit brings together heads of state and government of nearly 60 countries, as well as heads of international organizations.

Representatives of about 160 countries and international organizations are attending the event.

Current chair of the Non-Aligned Movement, President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro opened the Summit and made a speech at the event.

The chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement then was handed to Azerbaijan.

H.E. Mr Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Alsabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait made a speech at the Sammit. His Excellency met President of Afghanistan, Foreign Minister of India, Aljir, Palestine, Iraq and etc. during the Sammit.

It should be noted that Mr. Naser Muhareb Alhayen, Assistant Foreign Minister For International Organizations, Mrs. Tahani Alnaser, Permanent Delegation of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York and Mrs. Bashayer Alrefai, Political Reseacher in International Organizations Department had visited Baku on 22^nd of  October to participate at the Senior Officials Meeting and Ministerial Meeting in the frame of Summit.
